Tone UpóDon't Dry Up: Make an Everyday Skin Toner

Tone UpóDon't Dry Up:
Make an Everyday Skin Toner

Your face is looking oily. So you blot on your regular skin toner. Your face feels nice and tingly. But the toner contains alcohol, which dries out your skin. Your skin gets too dry, and this triggers it to produce more oil. So you start the process over again.

How do you save your skin from this vicious cycle? With an alcohol-free skin toner. Here's one that's simple to make and safe to use as often as you want. Another big plus: You can customize it for your skin type simply by adding the right essential oils.

The toner:
3 ounces rosewater
1 ounce witch hazel
5 to 10 drops lavender essential oil

For oily skin:
Add 3 drops burdock essential oil

For dry skin:
Add 3 drops rosemary essential oil

In a bottle, mix all the ingredients well. Apply the toner with cotton balls several times a day to catch oil when it appears. Store your toner in a cool, dark place. It should keep for several months. back to top
